Steven Bell has posted the results of his Academic Librarian Journal Readership Survey at ACRLog. Most of the respondents seem to be ACRL members and read 1-2 articles from their personal copies of magazines, on paper, within one month of receiving it. Steven’s conclusion from the one open-ended question are that
* the articles in these [...]

Application for graduation

I just applied for graduation with Pratt’s learning management system. After the hoops I had to jump through to get accepted into the program, this application procedure was a minor letdown. I had to check a box for my program, check that my name and address were correct, and click the Submit button. I did [...]

Done!

I’ve been too busy to blog for wrapping up the semester. However, last night was the final meeting of my Seminar & Practicum group. My classwork is officially over! All that remains is to apply for graduation. I hope that will be in February.

Stephen says (italicized comments are his):
They want to be [...]

Changes

After wrapping up my summer studies, visiting relatives in Europe, hosting relatives in NYC, and starting a part-time library job (yay!), I’m back in school. Well, technically school starts next week for me, but other classes have been meeting for almost two weeks. I will also start my internship next week. It’s going to be [...]

Why blogging matters to me?

On Tuesday in Communication class, we had a very interesting discussion about blogs. Most of the class didn’t seem too taken with them. Someone even remarked having read somewhere that “blogs are written by people with nothing to say and read by people with nothing to do.” I felt a little out of place with [...]
